Why This Day Exists

Modern family life is busy.

Whether your children attend public school or you’re together all day as a homeschooling family like ours, it’s easy to spend your days checking boxes instead of truly connecting.

Between work, activities, technology, meals, and endless to-do lists, many parents find themselves longing for a deeper connection with their children.

They want less conflict.

More laughter.

More meaningful conversations.

More cooperation.

More presence.

But in today’s world, that can feel difficult to create amidst the demands of everyday life.

Family Connection Day exists to remove those distractions.

For one day, you won’t need to think about the schedule, preparing meals, managing devices, or planning activities.

Instead, your family can simply arrive.

Together we’ll share nourishing meals, spend time in nature, create, play, laugh, speak from the heart, and learn practical tools that support emotional regulation, healthy communication, and deeper connection.

Our Vision

We believe every family deserves to experience what it feels like to be deeply connected.

Our intention is to create a safe, welcoming space where families can slow down, be fully present with one another, and experience the love, joy, and belonging that are often buried beneath the pace of everyday life.

Our hope is that each family leaves feeling more grounded, more connected, and empowered to recreate that same sense of safety, love, and presence in their own home, again and again.

How this Experience is Different

A Lived-In Experience

One of the greatest compliments we’ve ever received came from a family who spent a week living alongside us.

What impacted them most wasn’t a specific workshop or activity.

It was the lived-in experience.

Sharing meals.

Morning circles.

Playing games.

Walking in nature.

Talking openly.

Laughing together.

Watching what it feels like when love, presence, and intentionality become part of everyday family life.

We don’t believe connection is something that can be taught. It has to be experienced.
That’s exactly what we hope to create during Family Connection Day.

Because once you’ve experienced what’s possible, it becomes much easier to recreate that feeling in your own home.

Imagine Your Family Leaving…

Instead of returning home feeling rushed, overwhelmed, and caught in the same old patterns…

– A deeper sense of connection to one another.
– Practical tools to regulate your nervous systems during everyday moments of stress.
– New ways to communicate with more honesty, compassion, and understanding.
– Fresh ideas for creating meaningful family traditions, rituals, and connections at home.
– Hearts that feel lighter after a day filled with play, creativity, nature, and shared experiences.
– Confidence that creating a calmer, more connected family life doesn’t require perfection—it begins with simple, intentional moments.

Most importantly…

You’ll leave knowing that the connection you experienced during this day wasn’t something we created for you.
It’s something your family is capable of creating again and again.
From surviving the pace of modern family life… to experiencing what’s possible when your family slows down, reconnects, and learns practical ways to bring that feeling home.

The Conscious Crew | Sacred Plant Medicine & Family Healing

Hi, we’re Stephanie and Ryan!

More importantly, we’re parents to four incredible kids who have become some of our greatest teachers.

Like many families, our journey hasn’t been perfect. We’ve navigated stress, overwhelm, healing, rebuilding, and learning how to create a family culture rooted in presence, connection, and intentional living. Everything we share during Family Connection Day comes from practices we’ve lived ourselves and continue to practice every day.

Stephanie is a former Physician Assistant turned Functional Medicine Nutritionist, cacao practitioner, and nervous system educator who has spent years helping individuals and families understand the connection between physical health, emotional well-being, and nervous system regulation.

Ryan is a trauma-informed facilitator, storyteller, and author who is deeply passionate about helping people feel seen, heard, and connected. His own healing journey has shaped the compassionate, grounded presence he brings to families.

Together, we’ve spent years studying, practicing, and living what we teach. But our greatest education has come from raising our own children and learning—day by day—what helps families truly thrive.
